Unfortunately, too many people have the misguided impression that God exists to serve us. Movies like "The Secret" and all the discussion of the "Law of Attraction" have left many people confused about how to achieve True Prosperity.
Just like any of the enemie's schemes, it has a ring of truth to it, but it's lacking at least one ingredient. That one ingredient is GOD, who is the one ingredient that makes everything in life work right!
James tells us that:
..."You do not have because you do not ask God. When you ask, you do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, that you may spend what you get on your pleasures." James 4:2-3
This is why so many people stuggle to make the Law of Attraction work in their lives, because our enemy tries to take the Creator of the universe out of the equation. God loves you and wants you to prosper, but not the way Satan tries to do it.
Even among the church there are people confused in their teaching about prosperity. They have a spoiled "Kings Kid's" attitude. They believe they are entitled to great worldy riches because their Father is King.
True prosperity is not about making the Creator of the universe your own personal Genie. Maybe it's time to stop searching for God's hand, and start searching for His will and His wisdom.
This is what the Bible says about God's Wisdom
"I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me. With me are riches and honor, enduring wealth and prosperity."
